Apple ric rac booties

Made this last nite.. Wanted to test out using my MyLock744D.. but ended up only used 10% of the serging machine.. Still using my normal Janome All-In-One. I need to fiddle around this machine .. lot more to explore.. I must try applique technique using MyLock... next time then..

This is the only part I used the MyLock744D. THe good thing is.. I sew the edges and at the same time it sewn the 2 pieces together.. Save time.. Its using 4 thread with 2 needles... So the stitches is quite neat

Testing out fabric booties.. with "brakes"

I tested to sew this booties .. I planned to make it more solid.. and ironed it with the glued fabric inside.. But funny I bought the glued-fabric which is too hard stiff! It is supposed to have elastic bands at the ankles.. but it was too hard to insert elastic bands in it..

I will make this for "display item only".. hehehe .. cos I think toddlers who wears it will get blisters... Its hard as rock!
I must change the inner glued fabric to a softer type.. I don't wanna hurt those cute tiny feet...

Hey.. this sole was made with anti-slip at bottom of sole (this is the brakes feature I meant.. heheeh)... Yeah.. I bought it all the way from US. I can't find it here or anywhere in Malaysia online stores .. or is there any online "seller" who sells this material online? If anybody knows where to buy this .. please tell me.

Now I can make soles for toddlers.. I guess its limited to 18 mnths only (for security purposes).

Ric Rac Booties varieties

I bought a few 3-tone-color Ric Rac.. Hmm.. I really fancy Ric Rac.. so pretty colors.. orange, brown, pink, red, blue, purple.. and a lot more...
This one was ordered by a friend in KL.. hope she likes it...

This one is using a brown-color-tone ric rac..

Luckily I still have my collection .. if not.. I'll have to wait till my shopping time..

My bunny was a bit cheeky.. not cute.. errr... this is machine work.. but I still need to touch up with hand needle..!

Liliput Pink Mary Jane booties

I made this cute liliput A.K.A new born @ preemie Mary Jane booties for a dear friend Mrs J Family.

Wow.. this sole sure is small.. So that baby can wear it even on her 1st day!

A pre-gift for Baby J.. will be out of mummy's belly soon!

I'll call her baby "Jane"... since the family is all starting from letter J..

I remember a malay (Kedah version) of a riddle joke.. All starting from the letter "J"

here goes..

Japaq (Jaafar) jalan-jalan,

Japaq jumpa Jah,

Jah jolok jambu,

Japaq jolok juboq jah.. (hahaha.. sensored word)

Jah jerit -- "Jangan jolok-jolok"

Japaq jeling je...

heheheheh...

Boy & Girl reunited

Reunited.. and it feels so gooooood... <-- This old song just came out of my head.. Do you know who sang it? I don't.. but I can still remember it was so long ago when I was little..

Tada!!!!

Finally the lil red sole got her soul-mate -->> the "Starry Blue"..

The blue one looks smaller although the size was actually the same ( 0-6mnths )..

Note:

Forgot to tell you that the star shaped button is the one that my cyber mate Faridah bought me from Australia..

Did you notice, the Starry Blue has 2 color-tone , blue & white inside. I still used the same felt material, but now I combine 2 colors that makes it two layers of felt.. A bit thicker but it stands on its own, not like the Red sole has only 1 piece..

Quite a challenge for me to make this booties, its thicker & sooo tiny... Luckily I had my new sewing machine from Epal. What a great machine it is....! Didn't have the time to show you my new gadget yet.. Later soon I guess, when I'm finished fiddling with it.. Still a lot more to learn.

*sigh*

I just love this smallie.. cutie.. tiny shoe.. I wish I had a nice box to keep this sole..

Lil Red Sole

I love this.. So adorable.. isn't it?
I got this idea from my old friend Hip-o-Mama. She bought a pair of handmade baby booties from US. It was made of felt material.. I decided to try it out.. Well, you know me.. I was too eager to try out new things .. especially cute lil things that I really cannot resist.
I dig out my printout draft pattern of baby sole from my knitting collection, and found the drawing pattern for size 0-6months.
Tada! DONE!
Its is so very simple.. But the hard thing is its too tiny to sew.. especially when handling sewing machine.. I need to sew it slow & steady..
Its cute for gifts too. I must find a good box to put it into.. I wonder who will be lucky to have this sole..
