Finally I made my 1st smocking dress for my first "customer".. Deanna, for her sweet lil girl Sona. It really freaked me out.. imagine my first attempt of smocking and yet for customed made order... *phew* .. looks easy.. but not that easy for me.. I need more practice...

Hope she likes it. I'm supposed to make 2 dress.. ehehe.. but the other one.. still pending.. *sigh* bz me.. I'll make sure I get it done soon.

Smocking in on

Hey.. I made my first smocking dress!!!
haahahhh... gotcha!
Actually I wanted to spend time to do this tedious job.. but due to very itsy bitsy time.. I only managed to make soooo little smocking embroidery. This is my 1st (2nd actually... but my 1st one is nicely folded inside my drawer...only 2 rows done..)
Arrgghh... please give me back my marathon mood to sew... I'm a bit lA2Y... lately..heehhe
Isn't this dress sweeett??

Yeahh.. this is my very own work.. I don't know how it will turn out to be.. Wish me luck!

My new baby has arrive!

I know you can read the Read!
I guess this gadget is quite an alien for some people out there... FYI, this is a pleater that makes pleats for smocking embroidery.. What is smocking?? Go google it to find out.

Don't laugh ya.. I don't know how to use this horse yet.. hehehe.. Hah well! You'll see the result soon!

Have a nice weekend!

Self-learn smocking

My dreams has finally come true.. I'm learning to do smocking myself! Now I can refer to all my Australian Smocking & Embroidery magazine collections to make this trial dress for Maya. Thanks to Shiela who helped me do the pleats. She finally made my dream come true.. But I'm learning smocking all by myself you know.. without any guidance. I hope I can find some expert who can share some tips on how to get started. Or suggest good books that you can consider a must have...

I'm not sure when I can complete this dresses, as I have so many in-hand now.. Epal Projects, customers orders.... my own family's attire for Eid Mubarak.. and my own Baju kurung for Hari Raya... Its just 3 weeks more...
Time is running out... I must move on!
