Daisy.. daisy.. sewn on cardie..
My hands was a bit shakey when sewing this embroidery on the cardigan. Its not the same as sewing on the normal cotton fabric. This one needs extra gentle & patience .
The cardie is not mine... I wonder when I can make one for myself..
Tweety Mutley ordered this red cardie for her beloved mother for her birthday.
Pre-Happy Birthday auntie!

I knit it my way..
I made one cardigan for Tweety Mutley.. hmm.. I cant remember when I started it.. sometime end of June. The cardie was actually completed last week, but the finishing part was a bit time consuming - especially darning the yarns & the embroidery..
So here's the 98% of the cardigan I've made.. Need to complete the embroidery part. I made 2 daisies so far at the front.. I hope I can finish it tonight..
Just to share with you this interesting embroidery method - using a crochet hook to sew chain stitch to your knitting garment. I can't remember where I found the tutorial video on this one... But its surely fun to do.. and fast too..
Look at the chain stitch I made using the crochet hook.. saves time.. But I have to be more careful on straight lines.. too many glitches here and there.. hehehe..

Look who's knitting ??
I tried to make a hat from the cheapest-yarn-in-town. Although the color was so sweet.. but the yarn is toooooo tiny to knit!..
This hat was suppose to be for 2yrs size.. But with this tiny yarn plus the tiny needle size 3mm, i guess this would only make for 3-6months size..
Well, nevermind. This is only trial.. just to check the gauge for tiny yarns like MINLON or SAKURA... Yes.. these yarns are cheap, but not that suitable for knitting.. (Penat lah.. banyak sangat stiches )
Check out the price in KK - RM 3.40 for Minlon yarn.. The yarn store I went informed me that the price will increase by 1st July 2008.
Oh my! Will that end my knitting hobby?

Simply Knitting Magazine
What I like best about this magazine is.. it comes with a gift for every issue!
For this month's issue, I got a set of Yarn Bobbins.. which is very usefull for my leftovers yarn or I can organise it better.
Next month issue will be "cable needle".. I hope its for real. I found out that last month's issue, they changed the gift items.. This april issue should be given a yarn organiser (its a transparent plastic bag to organise your yarn), but I got this bobbins instead.
Maybe its their marketting strategy to get you buy every issue..
But I have no regrets on buying this magazine.. I still get stuff that cannot be found anywhere in Sabah.

My special Yarn Organiser..
I'm in the process of making a "Stripe Cardigan" for Maya..
Its easy to put my yarns inside this box, since I had to use 3 balls of different color yarn, at least I can keep my yarn safe & clean & of course tidy.

For a start, I'm knitting the cardie by making the "back" side of the cardie. I'm using a bamboo 4.5mm needle, not that that bad.. Although its faster to use an aluminium straight or circular needle, but I managed to complete the back part in just 2 days ( err... not full 24hr-day ya.. I only got 2-3hrs per day to spare after Maya sleeps...)

Gauge: 4 sts and 5 rows = 1 inch
Directions:

Row 2 and 4: Purl across.
Row 3: Knit across.Repeat these 4 rows of pattern , keeping the 3 sts on each side in knit st every row, until about 12 ½ or 13 inches long. (measure along side edge of placemat), ending on a purl row. K 1 row, then knit 2 more rows.

Smooth up and down on mat to measure about 13 inches or so.The finished size is not too critical, but if you make more than one, be sure to smooth all others out to same finished size.
