My love is for real

Tada! As I have promised to show you how my mystery love looks like.. This is the result.
Its a wedding wall hanging requested by Ms Valery for her wedding recently. I can only publish the picture after the event is over, it won't be a surprise if I displayed earlier...

This masterpiece turn out huge.. I though it would be just around 40'x40'... but the exact size reached up to 60"x60"(arrgh.. I forgot to measure before handing over to Val.. so I don't have the exact figure..) I put this on my queensize bed when taking this pic (see my lil girl still sleeping by the side of our bed?), it covers the whole bed! Unbelievable.. A bit of extra size, but I treat it as a gift to the bride for the extra inches.. Hope she likes it.

If I were to make another one of this... errr.. I would think twice.. ! hehe.. not easy you know.. with my very limited time.. patchworking needs time & patience.

Hexy game

I can't believe myself that I joined a group of creative ladies who love sewing as well.. together hand-in-hand building up a Grandmother Daisy Flower queensize Quilt for ourselves.

Isn't that sweet??? Picture above is courtessy of Kak Diah.. A sample of how the hexy game would turn out to be..

How does it work?

1) We gather around a bunch of 10 person (all virtually scattered around all over Malaysia)

2) Draw will be held every 2 weeks, on who's turn will get the whole set of 100 daisy quilt flower from all members.

3) Each person will have to make 10 daisy quilt flowers following the prefered theme color the winner of the draw for that 2-week period. Everyone must finish the 10 flowers on time within 2 weeks, and send it to the lucky person by post.

4) Every member will get her turn to receive the set....

5) I just cant wait for my turn...no need to worry.. even the last person will get her turn by end of december.. not that long rite? Imagine if you make this queensize quilt all by yourself..HANDSEW! I wonder if I can finish em in 5months.. without this kick-startup...

Hehehe.. dun laugh yaa! This is my first time making this trully handmade and hand-sewn creation. All this while I only made my sewing with my very helpfull & faithful Janome machine.. Too lazy to use hand needle.. but now.. no choice!

Top pic is the back view. Not that hard to make, just print out the required size of template, standardise with all members... See Balkish blog for the details of this game.. Click HERE

This is the front view... sorry about the white temporary stitches... Can only open when finish all..

Hopefully I done it right... Please comment ya members...

BTW, the lucky person to get the first draw is Faridah Salim. Her prefered color is BLUE.. Wait till I get all my fabric done..

East meets West

CONGRATULATIONS!
To Priscilla & Raymond
for their wedding on 11 & 12 July 2009.
She is my very good friend since schooldays!
Church mass at Sacret Heart ..I miss attending this one... hahaha.. busy with my sewing machine... to finish up the night reception..
*sigh* finally completed... one down.. more to go!
This dress is very similar to the dress I made before this..
Although I've done this a few times.. but this time is more challenging..
(1)
I have to make 2 sets of dress for 5 girls = 10 dress
(2)
I have to get their measurements by email.. I have to trust their mom's measurement or typo error (only guide them by email)
(3)
I was only given their picture too, so that I can guess how exactly they look like physically.
(4)
I have 5 multi sizes to make - 14, 12, 10, 6 & 4 years old
No matter how hard it is.. I will strive hard to make it.. Like Bryan Adams said, "Everything I do.. I do it for YOU" (yes all of you out there too)

This is the back side ... the ribbon was a bit short, since the organza fabric is limited.. and I have no more time to go out to buy more.. This is the only length I got.. But, no fear.. I had bought for standby.. rolls of organza ribbons.. In case anything happen..

Haaah.. This is HARD! For me ... you should feel the softness of the fabric... veryyy soft...needs extra carefull ya... and hard to handle..heheh
(mind my lazyness, I didn't get it ironed before taking pics... sleepy oredi)

A speghetti strap dress with semi round flair skirt.. Looks easy...
but only God knows how hard it is for me ... needs practice..
I made the embelishment simple this time.. only play around with ribbons and bows... I didnt get the close up for the gold dress bow ribbon has a tiny butterfly on it

Look at the cute lil girls in the dresses I made... not the girl in black, (the Kadazandusun traditional costume). I plan to make one for my lil Maya with a Dusun Lotud costume(coming soon.. dunno when)

Arent they pretty.. Mix multi-racial ... Malaysian & France

This cute girl is Azizah 6.. my good ol-pal Syedatul's daughter.. sexy oo..

Mischievous borrower

"Now this dress is mine..!" says lil Maya... No.. no.. this dress is not hers.. I just put it on her to test out the size if she fits.. Actually this dress was made for Aishah, Neneth's lil girl. She was assigned to be a flower girl for Neneth's sister's wedding.
I made two pairs.. another one is for her cuz Balkis, 7yrs old. I'll see if I can get their real pictures wearing it...

Luckily I have one model who can test it out to see if there is anything wrong with my cuttings.

Gold satin with cream colored waist band... matched with satin roses made from the same fabric.. I will make this similar flower girls dress some time soon for my best friend wedding, Cilla. So far this style is still a favourite...
If anyone has some other design you can suggest me to make, I can sure try for Cilla's flowergirl's 2nd night event set.

What ev i done?

Here comes grumpy lil duckling name Maya...in action..

What is this actually? I'm doing a bit of some crash course project.. thats y I'm away from my desk.. hehehe.. <-- evil laf

(psttt... dun tell my boss aah!)

This is one of the cute and adorable technique call brush-out.. I do have lotsa knitting yarn.. Wow.. I just love this! Cant wait to use up my leftover yarns.

Cute t-shirt eh?

This is an organza brooch... err.. not done with the pins yet.. only the embroidery part finished..

Aaah.. this is also nice... Lace! This lace was sewn on a water soluble fusible web.. So.. this is also known as "kerawang" in Malay... *wah.. imagining my future dress with this kinda lace on it.. dream on girl..*

Happy Birthday Maya.. not!
This is only a towel.. gimic.. its only an embroidery on towel..

This one is a "Save Mother Earth Bag" or you might say a recycle shopping bag...
ahh.. I just love bags..

This is my pencil case..

And lastly.. this bag is not included in the course ya!..
Just want to show you how I carry my embroidery machine from home.
I made this bag just for "her"

Bridesmaid dress

I forgot to post this dress I made early this month. Requested from the owner to take a pic with this dress on.. but still waiting..
FYI, this is my first time making a real dress for adult size.. Phew.. Thank God it turn out ok.. although I was a bit panicked at that time.. and had to rush to finish up my sewing before Hari Raya. Plus this challenging satin body fitting dress with linings...
Great challenge...
